About ChasToday

CharlestonToday • hosted by Peter Ingle

The name of CharlestonToday is intended to reflect this city, not only as it has so admirably been, but as it is today and going forward—a blend of classical and contemporary.

My vision is to provide an online environment where you can linger, ponder, get inspired, and be soothed as you spend focused yet relaxed time online, after which you feel refreshed and fulfilled. A site where you also have easy access and links to other sites and information.

As we continue to develop CharlestonToday, I keep in mind a large living room with high ceilings, windows all around, and lots of doors. You want to be in the room, yet you want long views and the freedom to come and go. And you always want to return.

Everyone has their preferences for content, and one of mine is for thoughtful, insightful, and entertaining writing. With this in mind, I am busy asking some of my favorite writers to join this venture still in process. Meanwhile, my enjoyment of art, architecture, classical music, and dance is and will continue to be reflected in this site.

Although we want and need sponsors, I remain firm in the belief that the reader comes first; that the page should be enticing to look at and read without the distraction of invasive ads; and that the page should draw you in rather than jump out at you. My philosophy is: give the reader great content and a great online experience, and advertisers will follow. Let’s hope I’m right.

I look forward to receiving your comments, suggestions, and support at inglep@charlestontoday.net.

Our site design is a customized version of Magazine Basic for Wordpress. Bravo to C. Bavota at Tinker Priest Media for the template.

We are hosted by Bluehost whose terrific 24-hour customer service should be a model for business.
